7.15.10 Summer Studio Rocked the Campus!

I know that post title is kind of cheesy. Who cares, I mean it, because Summer Studio was awesome, it ROCKED!

fashion

If you are visiting this site for the first time and reading this post then let me explain. RocktheCampus2010.com is a window into what happened at Summer Studio 2010. From the final projects of each class to brainstorming sessions and fun videos. If you weren’t able to be here or you want to reminisce on the week, now you can see for yourself all of the exciting work that was created during Summer Studio.

Everything is written in reverse chronological order, meaning the newest posts show up first. If you start to scroll through the website you’ll see the final projects from each class and the work that went into the creative process. If you are looking to see what happened in a specific program use the navigation above to find what you are looking for. Also there are tons of photos in the gallery section. You can navigate the photo gallery just like the programs.

Are you wondering what is the deal with Rock the Campus?

Then let me explain. Rock the Campus was the theme to Summer Studio 2010. The Art Institute worked with local artist Kellee Maize to be our resident musican for the week. All the students projects were centered around having Kellee as their client. For example; Graphic Design created promotional material, Fashion planned her wardrobe, and Interior Design created a custom skybox. Those projects are just the tip of the iceburgh.

Did you attend Summer Studio?

Then make sure you check out all the work your fellow classmates created. All the projects were extremely creative and I can’t believe how much work was completed in one short week. Good job. Now you can share the week that rocked with your friends and family.

7.02.10 Thursday Preview

Kellee had the day off as the students buckled down to get their projects finished. In her absence, I took a tour of the classes to see how each class was progressing. I knew that a lot of projects were going well and I hadn’t seen some classes since Tuesday. So I was eager to make the rounds.

6.28.10 Fashion Meets Kellee

On Tuesday morning we got off to an early start with the Fashion students. This is the first time anyone is meeting our featured artist, Kellee Maize. Suz Pisano the fashion faculty member, coincidentally, has worked with Kellee before designing her “Princess of Pittsburgh” outfit.

The group gets off to a great start discussing Kellee’s different musical personas and how she relates to each of them. The students are planning to outfit Kellee for each of her personas, so understanding the dynamic of each one is important.

Suz gives the students an overview of fashion in the world and they prepare to take one of their many field trips around Pittsburgh.
