Next up is Graphic Design and Advertising posters. They all did a great job of using Kellee’s photos and identity in a unique way. Remember when I wrote earlier that I was impressed to see how different each poster looked despite the same subject. This class did a great job.

Next stop, Graphic Design and Advertising. I know this group was really excited to present to Kellee. They probably had the best interview with her on Tuesday and a lot of the students really connected to her personality and music.
Some projects focused on future projects and other featured archetypes. I believe all the students had at least one poster and some had more than one including a cd cover. There was a lot of creative energy floating around the room, as well as technical learning. I even stepped in at one point to help a student with some Photoshop tips.
Each project was unique, and as I said before, I was really impressed with how different each student’s work was from the next. There were so many great ideas.

My first stop was with the Graphic Designers and Advertising students. Since my background is in design I couldn’t wait to see what this class had going. I knew that they were working on promotional posters and cd covers for Kellee but I hadn’t had the chance to see any of their progress.
Today the students were working in the computer lab and using Photoshop to work out their concepts. It was interesting to see which parts of Kellee’s personality each student was using to create their poster. Some were focusing on a specific archetype, others using all five, and some were thinking ahead to Kellee’s next album.
Like all design classes it is exciting to see how many different posters can be created around the same theme.

Next on the agenda is the Graphic Design and Advertising class. I wish I would have recorded video of their interview with Kellee as they asked a lot of great questions about her music, influences, goals and personality. Their interview lasted the longest of any other class but it was worth it as we see throughout the week what great work this class produced.
Their goal is to create a promotional poster or cd cover for Kellee. Their in depth interview helped them to really get inside the music. After their talk Kellee played some of her songs off of the website. I found it amusing to see jaws drop as the students were clearly impressed. I don’t think they were expecting such a lively performer.
